Intelligent Salt Spray Testing Machine
The intelligent salt spray testing machine is core laboratory equipment for corrosion resistance testing in the hardware electroplating and surface treatment industries. Along with the tensile testing machine, it serves as standard quality inspection equipment for the factory.
Core Function
It simulates a high-salt-fog corrosive environment to accelerate the corrosion resistance test of metal parts, electroplated components and surface coatings. It is widely used for luggage hardware buckles, screws and electroplated parts to verify whether their rust-proof and anti-corrosion service life meets the standard.
As one of the artificial climate three-proof test equipment (humid heat, salt spray and mold), it adopts accelerated corrosion testing to evaluate product durability in marine, humid and high-salt environments.
Key Structure & Working Principle
Test Chamber (transparent part on the left)
This is the sample placement area. The built-in nozzle atomizes salt solution into fine salt fog and sprays it evenly over the samples to form a continuous corrosive environment.
Intelligent Control Unit (right section)
Equipped with an LCD touch screen, it allows setting of temperature, spray cycle, salt solution concentration and other parameters, and automatically records test time and operating status. The pressure gauge and regulating valve at the bottom control spray pressure and flow rate.
Working Principle
Approximately 5% sodium chloride solution is atomized at a constant temperature of about 35℃. The salt fog adheres to the sample surface, and chloride ions penetrate the coating or plating layer to trigger electrochemical corrosion, so as to evaluate the corrosion resistance of the product.

Common Standards
GB/T 10125, ASTM B117 Neutral Salt Spray (NSS); more stringent tests include AASS (Acetic Acid Salt Spray) and CASS (Copper Accelerated Acetic Salt Spray).
